
The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah organized a symposium titled "Women's Political Participation: Between Reality and Aspiration." The symposium addressed the reality of women's representation in political life and the challenges they face in strengthening their presence in decision-making positions.
The symposium aimed to focus on the importance of women's role in political life and empowering them to participate effectively in developing society and achieving equal opportunities.
The symposium, presented by Dr. Amal Mohammed Abdul Karim, Dean of the College of Education for Women, and Noura Hamid Hassan, Head of the Women's Affairs Division at the University Presidency, discussed the reality of Iraqi women's political participation, the social and cultural obstacles that limit their ambitions, and reviewed the most prominent successful women's experiences in this field.
The symposium recommended the need to support women in assuming leadership positions and to strengthen awareness programs that contribute to consolidating a culture of political participation and equality in society.
