The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah organized an awareness workshop entitled “Public Safety and First Aid.” The workshop was presented by Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Mohsen, an instructor from the Basrah Civil Defense Directorate, and was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hisham Kadhum, his assistants, and a number of faculty members and students.

The workshop aimed to promote awareness of preventative measures and enhance the skills of staff and students in dealing with emergencies and sudden injuries, both on campus and in public environments.

The workshop covered the fundamentals of first aid, including how to deal with burns, fractures, choking, and bleeding, as well as proper evacuation procedures and the use of fire extinguishers. It emphasized the importance of swift and well-considered action in emergencies to protect lives and property.
